Librarian X asked:
I just can’t afford to do everything at once and I definitely need new appliances (mine are ancient), but I’m wondering if refacing the cabinets or installing a new counter at a later date could damage the new appliances. But the workers should be able work around them, right? Or should I do it all at once somehow? Thanks!

They will have to remove them to do the job,but we do that every day.It is no big deal.New appliances will motivate you to finish the rest of the job.

You’d have a better chance of ruining the cabinets while putting the new applicances in. Do what you can now, sounds like you NEED the appliances. In the mean time, look on some deals for the cabinets (and hardware/knobs) and countertops (hardware stores often have really pretty discontinued stuff for way cheaper!)

i would get the appliances first any way..if you r redoing the cabinets anyway..its easier..more cost effective,,and you can get the sized appliances you want/need…re-doing the cabinets to suit the app’s,,,rather than trying to find appliances to suit the cabinets,,

yeah it’s fine. they will have to take them out and put them in the garage or something while they do the remodel. you dont want to have them in the kitchen or they will most likely be damaged. The only problem with doing appliances first is you have to stick with the same type of appliances you have now, you can change the layout but not the type of appliance. for example, if your cabinets are made for a 30″ stove, and you buy a new one, you cant build a kitchen with a cooktop and wall oven instead.
